With the Violectric USB options it is possible to retrofit Violectric headphone amps and D/A converter with a USB input with 24 bit and up to 192 kHz. The USB type-B input can be used to connect a computer, tablet or mobile phone.
The circuit is designed around an USB receiver which supports the so called „asynchronous“ mode with a separate 24 Bit D/A converter. This offers impressive 115 dB dynamic range with -103 dB THD+N and is implemented in an audiophile analog circuit. The USB receiver is powered by the external device and is handling over the digital audio data by means of a transformer to the input circuitry of the following circuitry. This means that the external device and D/A converter are completely galvanically isolated to avoid any hum or noise issues from the external device.
